Sushi Night at Nosh Movenpick JLT

Movenpick JLT Location

Situated in Cluster A in the stunning surroundings of Jumeirah Lake Towers, and is just a short walk from JLT Metro station.

The Movenpick is a standalone building. The Nosh Restuarant is situated on the Ground floor of the Hotel straight past main reception.

Venue Description

The restaurant through the week changes shape in the form over other themed nights including Seafood night, international buffet and Kebab night.

The restaurant is bright and airy and has great views over the lake. There were some nicely themed Japanese ornaments scattered throughout. The venue is not huge but more than sufficient for this type of night.

Sushi Night at Nosh Movenpick JLT – How Much?

First of all, it’s clear to see both packages are extremely good value. Even for mid-week evening dinner, 129 AED for all you can eat Sushi plus soft drinks cannot be sniffed at. In fa,ct you would be pushed to find cheaper in this part of town.

The Alcoholic package is also good value specifically for the holidaymakers or people with the Tuesday off at work! The Alcoholic beverages included are:

Sol Bottled Beer, White & Red house wines or if you like a stringer tipple you can choose from the spirits menu from Sky Vodka, Rum or Duwers Whisky.

AED 249 per person including buffet and selected beverage package

AED 129 per person including buffet and soft beverages

*Shisha is also available al fresco at an additional charge.

**Kids under six dine complimentarily. Kids from six to twelve get 50% discount.

The Food

As you initially walk into the venue on the right-hand side serving counters you are greeted with a huge amount of fresh bread and a Miso soup counter.

The Miso soup is a DIY type, where you can mix and match your Miso exactly how you want it. The bowl is huge and the soup is hot and has lots of flavours.

Miso soup is simply a must in my eyes to kick off a Sushi filled experience and of course it’s super healthy!!

In addition, there is a large salad bar which includes the normal selection of cold salads which you would expect to see.

The Sushi

The Sushi selection is really the Jewel in the Crown for Nosh restaurant, with well over 25 different Sushi/Sashimi option on display plus the option of having the dedicated Sushi chef customize to whatever combination you require you simply cannot go wrong here.

My personal favourite was the signature Crazy mushroom sushi, which is definitely a first for me!

The freshness of Sushi is of utmost importance in a Japanese restaurant, and I noticed that all the food was clearly freshly prepared.

Hot Food Selection

The food show doesn’t just end with Sushi, there is a nice selection of hot foods.

Also on offer, including gorgeous Chicken skewer Kebabs, tempura battered vegetables, Miso Fish and some other Asian dishes such as Biriyani.

My recommendation is the Vegetable Curry which was unexpectedly one of the best I have tried on Dubai. Hats off to the Chef!

If you have a sweet tooth like me you simply cannot finish a decent dinner without a good dessert, now Japanese cuisine is not necessarily known for it dessert choices as sugary food, in general, are not traditionally hugely popular in the far east.

Fortunately, the chefs @ Nosh have stepped in and put together a cracking selection.

The recommended by Choice is the Banoffee Pudding and the Sesame Cake. Simply outstanding.

Ok, this is the not the sort of venue which you would go to expecting a vibrant atmosphere, but the restaurant was busy during our visit.

There was a nice background ambience of people chatting and enjoying their food.

From our experience sometimes Hotel restaurants can be sterile but this was not the case @ Nosh restaurant.

Sushi Night at Nosh Movenpick JLT – Verdict Summary

All in all, Nosh’s Sushi on Monday evening is an impressive affair.

The Service was absolutely second to none and we were tret exceptionally well by the waiting team. Our glasses were always full and we were offered some custom Sushi platters created by the head Chef which was a nice touch.

When you compare the price of this for a Monday night eat out, it is up with some of the best venues we have visited for value as of yet.

As the article title suggests I would absolutely recommend this over, for example, a chain type Yo Sushi which I have no doubt would end up being a lot more expensive.

It could be a great venue for the singles out there on the dating scene, 260 AED for dinner for 2 with drinks? Who could complain in Dubai, when you think you could spend more for 4 drinks in an average bar!

Also, Nosh is great for tourists looking not to break the bank but have a few drinks and some fresh Sushi.

With Kids under 6 for free and 50% discount on the Chidlets from 6-12 you can drag them along also ; )

If you are looking for good value, fresh sushi on Monday night look no further than Nosh.
